Introduction to Categorization

The Categorization API enriches your banking transactions with AI-generated categories so you can work with cleaner, more meaningful transaction data. Depending on the engine you use, the output can range from compact category keys with confidence scores to more detailed hierarchical category structures.

The Engines section explains the available categorization engines and their output structures. Z2 is available for retail and corporate categorization.

One of the key benefits of the Categorization API is that it relies on Categorization Jobs. Whether you have a handful of transactions or thousands, the API processes them in a background job for you. This makes it well suited for larger transaction sets and for workflows that run automatically after transactions are fetched.
